The Kalaignar Kaivinai Tittam (KKT) is a scheme of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. It is created to support skilled artisans engaged in traditional crafts by providing them with financial assistance and opportunities to sustain and expand their trades.

KKT provides artisans with easier access to loans and subsidies, reducing the financial challenges of continuing traditional work. Along with financial aid, the scheme offers skill upgradation training (after loan gets sanctioned), ensuring artisans remain competitive and relevant in today’s market.

Eligibility
- Age: Minimum 35 years
- No minimum education qualification required
- Minimum of 5 years prior experience in the chosen artisan field
- No Own Contribution Required

- Metal works (including black smithery, armouring and tool works)

- Painting
- Glassworks
- Stucco works (Sudhai velai)
- Boat making
- Lock making
- Sculpting / Stone carving
- Pottery (including terracotta works)
- Basket, mat, broom making and rope weaving
- Doll / toy making
- Garland making
- Fishnet making
- Tailoring
- Jewel making
- Hair dressing and grooming
- Washing, ironing and laundry
- Leather handicrafts and footwear making
- Traditional musical instrument making
- Weaving and embroidery
- Traditional textile printing
- Beadworks
- Bamboo, cane, jute, palm leaf works

Financial Assistance
- Project cost up to ₹3 lakhs
- Project cost includes both capital expenditure and working capital — projects consisting solely of working capital may not be considered
- Bank loan is 100% of the project cost (including government subsidy of 25%)
- No promoter contribution required
- No collateral required
- Subsidy: 25% of the project cost, maximum ₹50,000
- 5% interest subvention paid quarterly for loans from banks other than TAICO Bank
- For TAICO Bank, loan provided at 7% with 2% interest subvention paid quarterly, making net interest rate 5%
- Repayment tenure fixed by bank as per RBI guidance
- Project cannot be financed from two different sources
