Tamil Nadu Women Entrepreneurship Empowerment Scheme (TWEES)
The Tamil Nadu Women Entrepreneurship Empowerment Scheme (TWEES) is an initiative of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. It is designed to encourage women entrepreneurs by providing financial support, subsidies, and skill training (provided after loan sanction) to help them establish and grow enterprises across manufacturing, services, and trading sectors. The scheme is yet to be officially launched.

TWEES aims to remove financial barriers for women by providing bank loans covering up to 95% of the project cost, along with a subsidy of up to ₹2 lakhs. Beneficiaries will also receive entrepreneurship training to build their skills and confidence as entrepreneurs.

By reducing financial barriers and building skills, the scheme helps women confidently step into business and create their own success stories.
Eligibility
- Age: 18–55 years
- No minimum education qualification required
- The applicant must be a domicile of Tamil Nadu
- Women and transgender entrepreneurs starting new manufacturing, service, or trading enterprises
- Must contribute at least 5% of the project cost as own contribution
- Only new units are eligible (exception for KKT Top-up beneficiaries)
- Should not have availed subsidy under any other State or Central Government scheme
Financial Assistance
- Project cost up to ₹10 lakhs
- Project cost includes both capital expenditure and working capital, projects that consist solely of working capital may not be considered
- Subsidy: 25% of the project cost, maximum ₹2 lakhs
- Bank loan up to 95% of the project cost (including government subsidy of 25%)
- Promoter's contribution: 5% of the project cost
- No collateral is required
- Interest rate as per RBI guidance
- Repayment tenure fixed by the bank in accordance with RBI guidance
- Project cannot be financed jointly from two different sources
