The Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme (UYEGP) is a scheme of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. It aims to create self-employment opportunities for educated unemployed youth by supporting them to start trading enterprises with financial assistance and subsidies.

UYEGP helps young entrepreneurs reduce financial stress by providing bank loans up to 95% of the project cost and subsidies of up to ₹3.75 lakhs. Eligibility
- Age: 18–45 years (up to 55 years for special categories)
- Education: Minimum 8th Standard pass
- Must be a new entrepreneur starting a trading enterprise
- Must contribute at least 5% of the project cost as own contribution
Financial Assistance
- Project cost up to ₹15 lakhs
- Subsidy: 25% of the project cost, maximum ₹3.75 lakhs
